Technology Innovation Award (2008)

Samarind's founder directors Sadik and Miranda Pothiawala were presented with the award in recognition of the development of 'Samarind RMS', the company's own leading edge software application for the pharmaceutical industry.
Inaugural TOPRA Innovation Award
Samarind received this prestigious award in recognition of the development of RMS On Demand, its internet based regulatory affairs software.
Below is a statement from the panel of judges read out at the inaugural International Regulatory Affairs Awards during the annual TOPRA Gala Dinner on October 5th 2010:
"We all know that every day in regulatory affairs innovation is taking place - new ideas for efficiency, new methods for productivity, new processes etc. The Innovation Award recognises that innovation is a key differentiator; it is a measure of the regulatory profession's ability to adjust to changes in regulatory science, the healthcare market or patient needs.
Judges were asked to assess novelty and complexity of the innovation, what the value was to RA professionals or healthcare in general and the potential return on investment or business impact of the innovative approach.
The judges felt that the Samarind product was 'an innovation that supported small companies and addressed the issue of costs that is so important to them'. The product is 'well presented on an excellent web site. The web site and free consumer trial is very customer-focused."
