Bespoke database helps steer company's success
Martin Conlon, MD of Assured Vehicle Rental Ltd, had no hesitation in choosing Samarind for IT support when he set up his business three years ago.

The Altrincham-based car rental brokers have carved out something of a niche market. The team's combined experience of more than 80 years means that they know intimately all the ins and outs of vehicle rental, allowing them to not only offer exceptional deals to their customers but also to ensure there are no nasty surprises during the rental period.

Says Martin Conlon: "Car rental companies, even the biggest, can't always supply every vehicle that's required, or at the terms asked for, and that's where we come in. We can find it!"
To handle and store all this information takes an exceptional database, not least at the customer interface end, where a considerable amount of data has to be processed. Martin wasn't happy with existing off-the-shelf packages and lost no time in calling in Samarind.
"There's a lot of information to handle, such as customers' details, the type of vehicle required, the length of the rental and the pick-up and drop-off points," said Martin. "Then there's the payment side of it. Samarind carefully went through all my business processes with me, then provided me with a bespoke system, absolutely tailored to my requirements.
"And what's marvellous is that Samarind have been able to grow my database as my company has grown, bolting on new information management features as and when they were required.
"It's a great service. I know I can get whatever the business needs from Samarind and that they'll supply it quickly, too."

"Most of our business comes from corporate clients but we do get individual applications from the website and this is something we can build on," said Martin. "Our current website just wasn't performing well enough, so I got in touch with Samarind. I wouldn't think of going to anyone else."
