IT Support
All computer networks require monitoring and regular maintenance in order to continue operating correctly. Samarind's aim is to provide the best all-round network support services and wherever possible prevent breakdowns, rather than just fix them when the happen.
Monitoring technology
We have invested in state-of-the-art technology that monitors the health of servers and other key IT equipment continuously, and reports to us any potential problems. This way the problem can be resolved before it results in significant downtime or even damage.
For example, one of our customers had accidently put a coat on top of a server, which blocked the fans and caused it to overheat. Our monitoring probe raised an alarm for this and we were able to contact the customer and get them to remove the coat before the server failed.
Preliminary health check
As part of our new customer take-on process we conduct a detailed health check of your network. This includes an extensive mapping out of all computer-related equipment so that we are fully familiar with your network. We then put this information into a detailed network diagram for our reference. If we identify any areas of concern we will highlight these and if necessary make recommendations for improvement.
Support service types
Samarind operates two models of support service:-
- A pay-as-you-go service, which includes the installation of monitoring probes on all devices, providing monitoring and reporting to your designated email address. You can then choose to either resolve the problem yourself or use some of your pre-purchased time for us to do it for you.
- Fully managed service, where we are totally responsible for the defined network and services. We ensure that we provide the highest level of 'up time' according to your Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Within each of these you can choose additional services, such as:-
- Regular engineer visits to help with minor changes and user queries and training
- Off-site backup solutions
- Domain name management
- Out-of-hours support
- Administrator training.
We can cover additional equipment like telephone systems and SmartPhones too.
