Samarind helps launch the Ultimate Safaris adventure!

Deeside based computer specialists Samarind has developed a new website for start up travel company Ultimate Safaris and Islands who specialize in luxury tailor-made African journeys.
Far from being your typical new business, Ultimate Safaris and Islands was founded by Gara Gharagozlou, formerly a director of Deutsche Asset Management and his partner Alexia Walker, a former equity sales trader for Williams de Broe, and daughter of Iceland Frozen Foods boss, Malcolm Walker.
With such a combination of business acumen the company is in good hands indeed. However, it is Gara and Alexia’s passion for Africa, and their desire and commitment to provide their customers with the ultimate safari experience that really strikes a chord.
Upon returning home following a sabbatical trip to the African continent, Gara quit the city after 18 years to run a safari camp in Botswana. He subsequently managed some of the top safari camps in the region including ‘Jack’s Camp’ and ‘San Camp’ in the remote Kalahari Makgadikgadi and ‘Abu Camp’ in the heart of the Okavango delta. Whilst running her other business ‘Tiger Lily’ based in Fulham, Alexia spent several years ‘commuting’ between London and southern Africa until she and Gara eventually decided to go into business together.
From the outset Gara and Alexia have made it their mission to provide customers with the absolute ultimate safaris and islands experience. Their main selling point is every trip is tailor-made to each individual customer’s requirements and interests. Supported by years of experience living and working in Africa, Ultimate Safaris and Islands has the knowledge of the ‘right-place and right-time’ to see specific animals, which is the key to a successful African safari holiday.
Naturally, the company’s website needed to reflect and demonstrate both the company’s expertise and in-depth knowledge and experience of Africa, as well as the outstanding quality of the safaris and islands holidays. They include some of the World’s top safari camps and island resorts, such as North Island in the Seychelles, which was voted Number One in the World, in the Best of the Best Category in the 2006 Conde Nast Traveller Readers' Awards.
Gara and Alexia have worked tirelessly to ensure the website’s content reflects what they have to offer, including stunning imagery of the safari camps and islands destinations.
After discussing their requirements with a number of companies, Ultimate Safaris and Islands commissioned Samarind to develop the new website. The Ultimate Safaris and Islands website was launched in November and it has already made an impact. “We’ve just taken a booking for a honeymoon, and they’ve paid £22,000 each,” commented Alexia Walker. “The site truly represents our passion for Africa and especially our ethos, which includes delivering customer service that is second-to-none, whilst contributing to the conservation of wildlife and the indigenous communities in Africa and its Islands. We are keen to promote responsible tourism throughout and Samarind has helped us to achieve this via our website. We are delighted with the results.”
