Samarind's Wireless links will click with hotel guests

A Wrexham hotel is connecting to a hi-tech future thanks to IT company Samarind.
Samarind is making Wireless internet access available at the Holt Lodge Hotel. The wireless access points (or WAP) will allow the hotel’s guests and conference centre users to send and receive e-mails and access the internet without the need for cables and phone-lines.
The Holt Lodge Hotel, in Wrexham Road, Holt, is owned by Andrew and Alex Smeaton, who also own the popular Alyn pub at Rossett and the Druid Inn at Pontblyddyn.
Alex Smeaton said: "Most business people have laptops with built-in wireless, which means they have the facility to use wireless access points. So why shouldn't they be able to use this highly convenient facility when out on business trips?
"Thanks to Samarind, the Holt Lodge Hotel will be able to provide WAP technology throughout its reception and lounge areas. Residents and delegates attending a conference here will be able to access this service free of charge. Other residents and day visitors will also be able to use the service at excellent rates. We believe this service will be a real boon for Wrexham business people."
"This is an exciting project for us," said Samarind financial director Richard Whittaker, who lives at Hightown Road, Wrexham. "We're very keen to encourage businesses to adopt WAP technology – why bother with expensive, leased phone lines and all that cabling when it’s unnecessary?"
"Samarind have done a tremendous job for us," confirmed Alex. "The staff have been so dedicated and helpful. We've now asked Samarind to build websites for our other properties, the Alyn and the Druid.
"We're sure WAP access will prove a major attraction for our guests and conference centre users, providing another good reason why they'll choose to stay at the Holt Lodge."
