Samarind Wins Innovation Award
Samarind Limited has won the inaugural TOPRA Innovation Award at the International Regulatory Affairs Awards.
The awards, run by TOPRA, were held at the Hilton International Hotel, Park Lane, London on 5th October, and recognise individuals, teams and organisations that have demonstrated excellence in regulatory affairs. The awards are open to nominations from around the globe.
The Innovation Award recognises the importance of new ideas and processes in regulatory affairs and the finalists included global pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, Leeds University, Farenta Oy Finland, who support the entire operational chain of pharmacy and pharmaceutical management for companies in Finland, and PPD Results Development, a leading global contract research organisation.
Nominations were reviewed in detail by a panel of judges comprising 14 leading industry professionals and the Innovation Award was finally presented to Samarind's Software Director Miranda Pothiawala, and Sales Executive, Phil Turner by Professor Sir Alasdair Breckenridge CBE, Chairman of the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) at the annual TOPRA gala dinner in London.
Samarind won this prestigious award in recognition of the development of its internet based regulatory software, RMS On Demand, which provides specialised regulatory software tools to SME pharma companies and regulatory affairs consultants anywhere in the world. For many of these companies, this type of software has previously been 'out of reach' due to cost; however RMS On Demand provides compliant, user-friendly software tools on an affordable monthly subscription basis.
