Christmas Opening Times
Samarind's offices will close for the holiday period at 12.00pm on Friday 24th December 2010, we're open as usual between Christmas and New Year and will re-open at 8.30am on Tuesday 4th January 2011.
As a customer with an existing support arrangement with us, please use My Samarind to log support calls on one of the normal working days during this period.
NEW 'menu' for Administration Tasks
Network support has changed a lot in recent years, and our support services have been changed to adapt. Any additions, security/permission changes and enhancements made to your network are outside the scope of support and have been chargeable at your discounted hourly support rate.
We will now include 1 HOURS ADMINISTRATION - COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE! (and this isn't just for Christmas - it's a permanent change!). You can view our 'menu' of administration tasks through My Samarind.
One of the most frequently asked for administration tasks is 'how do I set-up email on my iPhone?' Tobey (being our resident Apple enthusiast!) has very kindly put together step-by-step instructions on how to do this, and you can view them here Exchange Mail iOS device.pdf
Sophos Upgrades
You may be aware that Sophos will be ceasing support for some versions of their Antivirus as of 31 March 2011. They are providing FREE upgrades to the latest software, and Samarind will also be completing the upgrades for our support customers COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE. We will contact you to arrange this in the new year.
Email Security
We have seen an increase in the number of spam and virus attacks, which use a PC on your computer network to send out large amounts of spurious email - eating up serious bandwidth and potentially blacklisting you as a SPAMMER! This can lead to major disruption with email sending blocked completely and potential internet downtime.
The solution is Gateway - mail security that gives you additional spam filtering and scans your mail off-site - freeing up your bandwidth and taking the strain away from your Exchange server. It's £50 a month (for up to 50 users) and set-up for you is FREE! If you want to get going with Gateway then contact Carly today.
