"We improve your business through effective bespoke software solutions"

The Windows database software that we develop is very much like any other piece of modern software that you might use, like Sage and Outlook. It has a very up-to-date look and feel, it's easy to use and has all the features that you'd expect from a professionally written Windows application. It's built using the standard Microsoft professional development tools with a robust and high performance database engine behind it. As an example, on the right is a screenshot from our Regulatory Management Software, Samarind RMS.

Examples

Most of the time we're developing software that quickly becomes critical to our customer's business. The more automated and integrated a system is, the more people rely on it for the smooth running of their business. In fact, one of the main advantages of bespoke software is that it can let you do so much more with the same number of staff.

We have developed some extremely specific software, the like of which we never expect to do again. However there is some commonality between many of the systems we've developed, as you can see from the following list. This means we're familiar with these sorts of systems and new clients can often benefit from ideas and techniques that we've learnt from previous projects.

  • Order processing systems. Whilst Sage and other standard packages are very good at handling the standard financial side of a business (credit control, VAT, bank reconsiliation etc) they often do not do what people want on the sales & order processing side. As registered Sage developers we can develop a completely tailor made order processing system for a client and still use the standard Sage functionality for the accounting functions. And we can avoid duplication of effort by sharing customer and supplier data with Sage and sending invoice data to Sage automatically.
  • Membership administration systems. Although there are quite a few membership databases available 'off the shelf', many membership organisations have quite specific structures or benefits that mean that a bespoke system is called for. This is particularly true when the organisation's membership is spread over a wide geographic area and is heavily reliant on the organisation's web site. We have built several systems where the sections of the business' back-office database is accessed securely via its web site for specific functions. There's an example on our Internet database page.
  • Tracking systems. In areas where compliance is vital, for example in the pharmaceutical or financial sectors, it can be vital to have a database that reminds its users what needs to be done when and securely tracks activity within the database. We've developed a number of tracking systems, and incorporated tracking elements to other databases too.
  • Electronic document management systems (EDMS). Many of our systems incorporate a facility for creating and storing documents alongside the records in the database. These features are very popular as it means that all the information for one customer/job/whatever can be kept all in one place. This streamlines the production of the documents and enables things like electronic invoicing to be achieved.
